Join us this fall for another family fun season of tasty treats, exciting activities, and great family memories.
Head into the field to pick your own pumpkins! We have many sizes of pumpkins and gourds to choose from! We also grow spaghetti squash, acorn squash, & butternut squash which are a couple of our favorite fall foods.
Looking for some festive fall decor?
Show your spirit with some of our corn stalks, regular and mini-sized straw bales, painted pumpkins, and much more!
Appleberry Orchard Petting Farm is located in our 1882, historic barn. Complete with windowed cupola, this historic barn is registered as a National Historic Site. Inside the barn, your family will find Boer goats, a miniature donkey, miniature pony, chickens, yellow golden pheasants, rabbits, peacocks, and longhorn cattle. Be sure to check our News and Events page for upcoming activities as well as market specials.
You might also be interested to know that the first apple tree was planted on this farm in 1852, making Appleberry Orchard the oldest working orchard in the state of Iowa.
In addition to our terrific, made from scratch pies, breads, cookies and other bakery items, you won't want to leave until you have enjoyed our special treat, which we call "the Queen's Apple." This fresh picked, sliced apple becomes a gourmet delight, drizzled with homemade caramel, then topped with whipped cream, a maraschino cherry, and your choice of peanuts, M & M's, Oreos, or Reece's Pieces topping!
Be sure you also try the Apple Cider Slush Drink, and favorite that brings guests back again and again.
If you can't visit us at the orchard, we bring lots of fresh fruit, baked items, and other special treats to two area Farmers' Markets for your convenience:

Open on Tuesdays during the season
|Ft. Madison Farmers' Market
